HENRY, Lee Junior -- Lee Junior HENRY, 89, of Keota, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at Maplewood Manor in Keota.
A Celebration of Life Service was held at 2 p.m. today at Powell Funeral Home in Keota, with the Rev. Dennis Hopes offciating. Burial was in Keota Cemetery.
A general memorial fund has been established.
Arrangements are in the care of Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota.

Mr. HENRY was born Sept. 22, 1920, near Valley, the son of Lee B. and Matilda "Tillie" Augustine HENRY. He married Lorene DAWSON April 28, 1946, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.
Mr. HENRY grew up in the Valley and Rubio communities and attended Shinbone country school. He and his wife lived on and farmed a Century Farm south of Keota. In addition to farming, Mr. HENRY was an assistant soil commissioner and full-time soil commissioner from 1965 until 1979. In 2000, he received the Soil Conservation Award. He served as a director for Farmers Savings Bank in Keota.
Mr. HENRY served in the United States Army from 1942 until 1945.
He was baptized and belonged to Valley Evangelical Church. Mr. HENRY was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
He enjoyed being with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchild, farming, raising his livestock, playing cards and visiting with neighbors and friends. He also liked horses and enjoyed hitching them up for parades.
Survivors include his wife; two children, Linda HEISDORFFER and husband Gene of Sigourney and Larry HENRY and wife Noni of Keota; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Janis LARSON of Cherokee Village, Ark., and Joan WALKER of Hubbard.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.
