HESSE, Ronald J. -- Ronald J. HESSE, 63, of rural Bloomfield, died at 3:20 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds.

HESSE, Ronald J. -- Ronald J. HESSE, 63, of rural Bloomfield died at 3:20 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. David Albert officiating. Burial will be in Mount Gilead Cemetery in rural Floris.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials to Mount Gilead Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 406 S. Davis St., Bloomfield 52537.

Mr. HESSE was born June 27, 1946, in Iowa City, the son of Marvin and Mildred GOODELL HESSE.

Mr. HESSE grew up on the family farm southwest of Selma in Davis County. He lived all his life in Davis County and surrounding areas. He ws a carpenter and mechanic and worked as an ergonomics engineer at Cargill Meat Solutions in Ottumwa for many years.

Survivors include one son, Ronald HESSE II and wife Kathy of Bloomfield; two stepsons, Dale BIENUSA and wife Mary of Dixon, Mo., and John BIENUSA and wife Tammy of Ottumwa; four grandchildren; one brother, Marlin HESSE of Ottumwa; and one sister, Linda WARE of Bloomfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant daughter, Karri Jean HESSE.
