Local Rites for Mrs. KOONTZ, 87

Mrs. Harriet Jane KOONTZ, 87, former resident of Fairfield, died Friday at a nursing home in Iowa City.

Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral home in charge of the Rev. James W. Dendler. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. KOONTZ was born March 5, 1877 at Salina. Most of her life was spent in Jefferson county. For the past 30 years she had made her home with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Fred CAREY, who now reside in Iowa City. She moved from Fairfield 16 years ago.

In addition to her son, Mrs. KOONTZ is survived by two grand-children and one great grandchild.

UPDATE OF MARRIAGE INFORMATION: married a Charles CAREY on October 6, 1907. Two children: Verne and Fred. No further information on Charles CAREY found so far.

Marriage #2 to John C KOONTZ on June 14, 1924.

Harriet is buried in the same plot as her niece, Grace SNOOK WATTS (Evergreen Cemetery, 1st.053).
