STEVENS, Shirley -- Shirley STEVENS, 68, of Mount Pleasant, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.
A funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Olsen-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the memorial chapel, where the family will be present from 6-7:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

Mrs. STEVENS was born Sept. 23, 1941, in Mount Pleasant, the daughter of Eugene Max and Ruby Leona PARKER WOODS. She married Donovan Leroy STEVENS. They later divorced.
Mrs. STEVENS worked in a diner as a waitress and at a nursing home as a nurse's aide. She also worked at Henry County Health Center and the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown. For 30 years, she worked on the production line at Heatilator, from where she retired in 2004.
Mrs. STEVENS enjoyed being with her grandchildren and taking care of her yard.
Survivors include one daughter, Tina SANDERSON of Mount Pleasant; one son, Bob STEVENS and wife Geri of Batavia; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers, James WOODS and Charles WOODS, both of Mount Pleasant; and one sister, Regina ACKLES of Trenton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters, Othal WOODS, Ethel WOODS, Mary BLYTHE and Willa CHURCH.
