Bert SNOOK Dies Today

Services at Hoskins Funeral Home on Saturday, 10 a.m.

Bert A. SNOOK, 69, life-long resident of Jefferson county, passed away at 7:40 o'clock this morning at his home, 305 West Jefferson street. He had been in failing health for the past six months.

Funeral services wil be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Hoskins Funeral Home, in charge of Rev. S.P. Williamson. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. SNOOK was born in Salina on January 24, 1871. He has been a resident of Jefferson county his entire life, and was employed as a cabinet maker for a number of years. He was connected with the Turney Company for a period of thirty years. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Harold WATTS of this city, and two grandchildren, Leland and Roberta WATTS. He was preceded in death by one son, Leo Benjamin, who passed away at the age of four years. Surviving also are the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Pearl FULTON of Selma, Harry SNOOK of Texarkana, Tex., Mrs. Hattie KOONTZ of Fairfield, Mrs. E.C. JAMISON and Arthur SNOOK of Rock Island, Ill.

The full given name is also recorded as Abner Albert SNOOK. The nickname of "Bert" is used in the obituary and on the headstone at Evergreen Cemetery.

The name of the wife is: Bertha May DUKE SNOOK.

The obituary spelling of JAMISON should be JAMESON (Florence SNOOK married Edward Calvin JAMESON).
