ARCHER, Edna Faye -- Edna Faye ARCHER, 93, of Milton, died at 10:18 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church in Milton, with the Rev. ellis andrews (lower case sic) officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, where the family will be present from 7-8 p.m.

Memorials to Grace United Methodist Church or American Legion Russell-Strait Post No. 483 of Milton may be left at the funeral home or church or may be mailed to the family at 15104 300th St., Cantril 52542.

Mrs. ARCHER was born Oct. 15, 1916, in Topeka, Kan., the daughter of Curt and Beulah KENNEDY BAKER. She married Irvan L. ARCHER June 27, 1937, in Cantril. He died June 29, 2003.

As a child, Mrs. ARCHER lived in the Kansas City area until her family moved to the Milton and Cantril area in the mid-1930s. She and her husband farmed in the Keosauqua, Cantril and Milton area and retired to Milton in 1989. Mrs. ARCHER had worked at the former Burnett Funeral Home in Milton as a youth. She later worked at Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield as a nurse's aide. She and her husband had lived in Virginia while he was in the United States Navy.

Mrs. ARCHER was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women in Milton. She had been a member of the former Go and Chatter rural neighborhood club. She regularly attended Milton senior meals.

Survivors include one son, Larry ARCHER and wife Judy of Cantril; two daughters, Carolyn BUXTON and husband Richard of Cantril and Donna EPPERSON and husband Keith of Sigourney; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Carl BAKER of Clearfield, Utah, and Bill BAKER of Kansas City, Mo.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Wayne, Ray and Curt Jr. BAKER; and two sisters, Vesta SHELLEY and Minnie TUCKER.
