Wesley G. PARSONS

The funeral service for Wesley G. PARSONS, 84, of 410 North C St., who died at 7:35 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 1992, at Jefferson County Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. John D. Boatman will officiate.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Behner Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.

PARSONS was born Oct. 13, 1907, in Fairfield, the son of Will G. and Perle HANSHAW PARSONS. He married Ann VEELEY in 1930 at Cedar Rapids. She died in 1942. He married Violet OGDEN on May 30, 1953, at Montrose and she survives.

PARSONS lived most of his life in Fairfield and attended Parsons College. He worked as a dry cleaner and also operated the Repeat Shop before his retirement.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Fairfield Christian Businessmens Club. He served on the Tenco Industries board and as a minister of visitation for his church.

Surviving are one son, David PARSONS of Alexandria, V.; one daughter, Perle Ann MILLER of East Lansing, Mich.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother , Milford PARSONS of Fairfield; and Lucille COWEN of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and two step-daughters, Carol MILLS of Englewood, Colo., and Sharon OGDEN of Rochester, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
