Well Known Fairfield Resident Passed Away Here Yesterday
Simpson Asbury HOWARD, East Burlington street, passed away at 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at his home following an illness of ten days. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon from the Murray Funeral Home, in charge of Dr. U.S. Smith, pastor of the First Methodist church. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. HOWARD was born on a farm near Fairfield January 10, 1854. He at one time lived on what is known as the old Howard farm, 6 1/2 miles east of Fairfield. He was preceeded in death a few years ago by his wife and one daughter, Rubie May, who died in November, 1896.
The following children survive: Mrs. Anna HANEY, at home; J.R. HOWARD of Fairfield; Mrs. Zeruah LYNCH of Milton; and V.A. HOWARD of Oak Park, Ill. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Mary POLSTON of Lenox, Ia. Paul HANEY of this city is a grandson.
