OBITUARY

Ruth BRADSHAW

Ruth Roberta BRADSHAW, daughter of Carl and Grace BRADSHAW, was born here July 7th, 1903 and died May 23, 1922, aged 18 years, 10 months and 16 days.

Ruth was baptized by Dr. Thomas Osborn in September 1903 when she was only a few months old, and she started to Sabbath school in the spring after she was three years old, Mrs. Laura Chilcott being her first teacher. She was received into the First Methodist Episcopal church on February the twenty second 1914 by Dr. Lathrop, the pastor at that time. She enjoyed very much her membership in Mrs. Dean Taylor's class of girls, but was only able to be present on the Sabbath preceding this last Christmas after taking sick.

Ruth was an ambitious student, and if affliction had not come would have graduated with the present class of the High School. It was a sorry trial for her to give up her school work, but when she realized that she was not able to continue she quickly submitted for the time, and it was with a great deal of joy that she again took up her work last fall when her physician permitted her to carry some work. She was a heroic soul, earnestly desiring to make life worth while, and there is no doubt that she would have made for herself a place of great usefulness in our world.

She was a sweet and lovely girl endearing herself to all who came to know her. Her presence in the home was a real joy to the family and all who knew her appreciated her friendship.

Her life though brief in span did not fail for she still lives in our memories, and that to bless us with desire for finer things.
