MISS BRADSHAW DROWNS WHILE WADING SUNDAY
Tragedy at Island Near Moline, Ill., Funeral To be Here

Miss Alice BRADSHAW, 59 years old, of Fairfield, was accidentally drowned, late Sunday afternoon, in the Mississippi river near Moline, Ill. Miss Bradshaw was wading in the river near the summer cottage of her sister, Mrs. Ernest JERICHO, at Campbell Island.

An East Moline, Ill., dentist, Dr. C. W. Peterson was drowned in attempting to rescue Miss BRADSHAW. His cottage is next to the JERICHO place on the island.

Miss BRADSHAW, who for a number of years has made her home at 306 West Kirkwood street has been visiting her sister Mrs. JERICHO, for nearly two years.

Two brothers, J. C. and L. S. BRADSHAW, went to Moline last night, immediately after receiving word of the tragedy. They planned to bring the body back to Fairfield this afternoon for burial. Mrs. C. C. TALLMAN of Fairfield is a sister. Miss BRADSHAW was a daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. A. C. D. BRADSHAW.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from the Hoskins Funeral home. Dr. Gilbert Voorhies, pastor of the Fairfield Presbyterian church, will be in charge. Burial will be in the family lot in Evergreen cemetery.

Funeral Services Held in Fairfield For Miss BRADSHAW

Funeral services for Miss Alice BRADSHAW who was accidentally drowned last Sunday near Moline, Ill., were held in Fairfield at the Hoskins funeral home on Tuesday in charge of Dr. Gilbert Voorhies, pastor of the First Presbyterian church.

Many beautiful floral tributes were sent by friends of the family and many friends and relatives of the BRADSHAW family attended the impressive services here.

The pall bearers were William Wells, Jean Kirby, Floyd McQuiston, Fred JERICHO, Arthur Long and Harry Elder. Miss BRADSHAW was laid to rest in the family lot in Evergreen cemetery.

Those who attended the services from out-of-town were, Mr. and Mrs. G. B. JERICHO, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. JERICHO, and Misses Anna and May Grau, all of Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. James Buchanan of Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. James Lynch of Milton and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest JERICHO of Moline, Ill.

OBITUARY

ANNA ROBERTA BRADSHAW

ANNA ROBERTA BRADSHAW, passed away June 3rd, 1934, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Ernest JERICHO in Moline, Ill., with whom she had made her home since the death of her mother, which occurred two years ago. During those two years in Moline she had found many wonderful friendships.

She was born June 27th, 1874, at Salina, Iowa, the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. A. C. D. BRADSHAW. When three years old, the family moved to Fairfield, where she spent the greater part of her life in the family home at 306 North Kirkwood St. She attended the public schools, graduating from Fairfield High School in the class of 1893.

She devoted her entire life to her family, and was the stand-by in every case of need. During both her father's and her mother's last illness she proved unfailing devotion. To know her was to be ever her friend. Her life exemplified her high ideals and sterling character: Proverb 31:31; "Let her own works praise her."

Her death by a accidental drowning (sic) came as a great shock to her family and friends.

Miss BRADSHAW was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Fairfield.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. E. JERICHO, of Moline, Ill., and Mrs. C. C. TALLMAN and two brothers, J. C. BRADSHAW, her twin, and L. S. BRADSHAW, all of Fairfield, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 5th, at the Hoskins Funeral Home, conducted by Dr. Gilbert Voorhies of the First Presbyterian church. Interment was made in the family lot in Evergreen cemetery.
