Ethel MINEART of Fairfield died Monday afternoon, Sept. 14, 2009, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

Arrangements are pending at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Ethel J. MINEART

Ethel J. MINEART, 87, of Fairfield, died Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Stephen Page officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the church, during which a Parish Scripture Service will be held.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary "A Welcoming Family of Faith" or Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.

Arrangements are in the care of Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Mrs. MINEART was born July 16, 1922, in Batavia, the daughter of Anthony and Bertha KILBOURNE PECK. She married Charles V. MINEART Aug. 31, 1940, in Clear Creek. He died in 1982.

Mrs. MINEART attended school in the Batavia area. She worked as a cook at the Fairfield County Club and Stever House.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a lifetime member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include six sons, Richard of Fairfield, John and wife Norma of Fairfield, Donald and wife Jackie of South Beloit, Ill., David of Libertyville, Dale and wife Denise of Fairfield and Kenneth and wife Jody of Rockford, Ill.; and three daughters, Maria BREESE and husband Allen of Bena, Minn., Dolores JOHNSON and husband Fred of Mukilteo, Wash., and Patricia LEISTIKOW and husband Rodney of Deer River, Minn.; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one brother, Harley PECK of Stockport; four sisters, Marcella ATWATER of Galesburg, Ill., and Jo Ann ALLERDICE, Shirley MILLER and Donna KENNEDY, all of Fairfield.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Marlee MINEART; four brothers, Clifford PECK and Larry PECK, Harold PECK and Larry PECK; and two sisters, Lousie REED and Lucille ROGERS.
