HICKMAN, Donald L. -- The Rev. Donald L. HICKMAN, 93, of Danville, Ill., died at 7:58 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, at Colonial Manor in Danville, Ill.

A service was held this morning at First Assembly of God in Danville, with the Rev. Mark List officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Danville Rescue Mission, 834 N. Bowman Ave., Danville, IL 61832.

Arrangements are in the care of Anderson Funeral Home in Hoopeston, Ill.

Mr. HICKMAN was born Sept. 1, 1916, in Williamsport, Ind., the son of Linzie and Gladius DICKEY HICKMAN. He married Ruth LEWIS Aug. 1, 1942, in Hannibal, Mo.

Mr. HICKMAN was a pastor for International Church of the FourSquare Gospel for 33 years before retiring. He was a minister at FourSquare Gospel Church from 1963 to 1983. After retiring, he continued to minister in the community and return to Fairfield to conduct several funerals. He also had been an electric welder with Robert Holmes Brothers in Danville.

Mr. HICKMAN was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Danville.

He enjoyed helping his brother Ralph on the family farm and reading the Bible.

Survivors include his wife and one sister, Mildred BUTZOW of Hoopeston, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
