Mary N ELDER Dies At Hospital

Mary N. ELDER, well known Fairfield resident and a long time employee at the Fairfield Glove company, passed away early this morning at the Jefferson county hospital where she had been a patient since Oct. 9.

Her death came at 3 a.m. after she had been in ill health during the past three months. Her home is at 708 S. Fourth Street.

Last rites will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with the Rev. S. P. Williamson in charge, Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mary N. ELDER, 61, was born Feb. 28, 1894, in Iowa, the daughter of the late Walter A. and Effie M. CURRY ELDER. She was reared and educated in Keokuk county, came to Fairfield in 1916 and had made her home in this community since. She had been employed at the Fairfield Glove company for many years. She was a member of the Christian church.

Miss ELDER is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Fred G. and Ed ELDER, both of Fairfield; Mrs. Hattie JONES, Lockridge; William ELDER, Fairfield; Mrs. Zilpha DONOHUE, Ottumwa; Mrs. Clara RANSOM (sic - RANSON), Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Mary N ELDER was buried at Evergreen Cemetery in 2nd Addition.091.
