Fred G. ELDER Rites Saturday

Fred G. ELDER, long-time resident of Fairfield and a veteran of World War I, died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday at the Jefferson County Hospital. He had been in failing health for the past seven months.

Last rites will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. James W. Dendler in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Fred G. ELDER, 79, was born Aug. 1, 1886, west of What Cheer in Keokuk County. He was the son of Walter A. and Effie M. CURRY ELDER. He was reared and educated in Keokuk County.

He was united in marriage on Dec. 21, 1921 to Grace McGAW BEATTY. The wedding took place at Ottumwa.

ELDER was a member of the Methodist Church, the American Legion, and had been retired for several years. His home was at 104½ N. Main.

He is survived by three sisters: Mrs. Hattie JONES, Lockridge; Mrs. Zilpha DONAHUE, Clinton; and Mrs. Kenneth RANSON, Cedar Rapids; one brother, William ELDER, Libertyville; one step-son, Guyland BEATTY, Fairfield; and one step-daughter, Mrs. Katherine NAFFZIGER, San Antonio, Texas.

ELDER was preceded in death by his wife who died Nov. 2, 1955, also two brothers and two sisters.

NOTICE OF APPOINTMENT OF ADMINISTRATRIX AND NOTICE TO CREDITORS

In The District Court Of The State Of Iowa In And For Jefferson County

In The Matter Of The Estate Of Frederick G. ELDER, deceased.

To All Persons Interested In The Above Entitled Estate:

You are hereby notified that the undersigned has been appointed administratix of the above entitled estate; that all persons indebted to said estate are requested to make immediate payment to the undersigned, and creditors having claims against said estate shall file them with the clerk of the above named district court, as provided by law, duly authenticated, for allowance; and unless so filed within six months from the second publication of this notice (unless otherwise allowed or paid) such claim shall thereafter be forever barred.
