THOMAS, Josephine MESSER -- Josephine MESSER THOMAS, 80, of Fairfield, died Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

A graveside memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield, with the Rev. Len Maselli officiating. The body has been cremated.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Mrs. THOMAS was born July 30, 1929, in Brookville, the daughter of Basil and Addie JENKS MESSER. She married Clifford THOMAS June 24, 1949, in Iowa City. He died Oct. 6, 2008.

Survivors include one son, Arthur THOMAS of Vinton and one grandson.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Lorraine PACHECO.
