SHEETS, Wanda K. -- Wanda K. SHEETS, 98, of Fairfield, died Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Mike Metz and the Rev. John Louk officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or Miller Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. SHEETS was born Aug. 31, 1911, near Mount Zion in Van Buren County, the daughter of Arthur D. and Mary DODDS BARKER. She married Floyd SHEETS June 15, 1933, in Bonaparte.

Mrs. SHEETS was a 1929 graduate of Keosauqua High School. She spent her life as a teacher, homemaker, seamstress and genealogist.

Mrs. SHEETS was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Fairfield Women's Club and Methodist Guild Circle. She was a 50-year member of the Fairfield Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include one son, James SHEETS and wife Marilyn of Ames; one daughter, Patricia FUNKHOUSER and husband Tom of Fairfield; seven grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Marjorie ERRION.
