ELMORE, Blanche 'Ann' -- Blanche "Ann" ELMORE, 70, of Mount Pleasant, died from pulmonary dysfunction at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lincoln Street Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Terry Jerrel officiating.
No visitation is planned.
Memorials may be made to Lincoln Street Baptist Church.
Cremation Society of Eastern Central Western Iowa is assisting the family.
Mrs. ELMORE was born April 17, 1939, the daughter of Raymond and Violetena HARTLEY HECKETHORN. She married Ronald ELMORE in 1970.
Mrs. ELMORE graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1957. She retired from Mackay Envelope in 2004. She had previously worked as a telephone operator, office assistant at Heatilator, waitress and sales associate.
She attended Lincoln Street Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant.
Mrs. ELMORE and her husband were foster parents in Henry County for several years. She enjoyed her grandchildren, friends, family, dog and garden.
Survivors include four daughters, Sherry BARNES BOWMAN, Ronda ELMORE WHITE, Kimberly ELMORE JERREL and husband Terry and Connie Ann ELMORE DYALL and husband Bradley, all of Mount Pleasant; 10 grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; six siblings, Lucille ELLIOT of Indiana, Carol LORD of Texas, Laura VOGT of Fairfield, Lenice HAZELWOOD of Ottumwa, Cindy SHONDELL of Fairfield and Gene HECKETHORN of Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Robin ELMORE; one grandson; and one brother, Edward HECKETHORN.
