FINK, Edith Marie -- Edith Marie FINK, 90, formerly of Packwood, died at 3:55 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

A service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Packwood Christian Church, with the Rev. Harlan Van Voorst officiating. Burial will be in Keota Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday at Gould Funeral Home in Richland, where the family will be present from 6-7:30 p.m.

Memorials to the Packwood Christian Church memorial fund may be left at the funeral home or church or may be mailed to the family at 1307 Columbine Road, Packwood 52580.

Mrs. FINK was born Sept. 6, 1918, in Pleasant Plain, the daughter of Vincent M. and Gertrude A. KASOWSKI PEIFFER. She married Ernest FINK in July 1945. He died Feb. 21, 2006.

Mrs. FINK grew up in the Pleasant Plain area and graduated from Pleasant Plain High School. She graduated from Ottumwa Heights College and attended Denver University. She and her husband moved to a farm in the Packwood area in 1948. They moved into Packwood in 1983, and she moved to SunnyBrook Assisted Living in Fairfield after her husband's death. Mrs. FINK taught country school for six years and then served as board secretary for the Pekin Community School District for about 20 years. Following her retirement, she served as Packwood town clerk and as secretary to the Packwood Christian Church Board.

Mrs. FINK was a longtime member of Packwood Christian Church. She also was a member of the Sew and Sew Club.

Survivors include two daughters, June VAN KLAVEREN and husband Larry of St. Louis, Mo., and Ann WEIGEL and husband Doug of Packwood; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Richard PEIFFER of Grand Rapids, Mich.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
