KNIGHT, Norma Fern -- Norma Fern KNIGHT, 81, of Washington, Iowa, died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at Washington Care Center following an extended illness.

A celebration of life service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa. Interment will take place at Valley Cemetery in rural Washington County.

Visitation will begin at noon Friday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6-8 p.m.

A general memorial has been established.

Mrs. KNIGHT was born April 12, 1928, in Paris Valley, the daughter of Charles and Ethel Mae FRANK CHURCHILL. She married Clyde O. KNIGHT Nov. 29, 1947, in Rock Island, Ill.

Mrs. KNIGHT attended rural country school. She worked in several different occupations outside of her home as a cook, waitress and nurse's aide.

Mrs. KNIGHT was a member of Saint Josephs Catholic Church, Saint Josephs Altar and Rosary and the Moose Lodge.

She enjoyed crocheting and fishing.

Survivors include one daughter, Shelby Jean EMRY of Brighton; four stepchildren, Gary KNIGHT of Louden, Tenn., Sondra JONES of Washington, Iowa, Virginia GLEASON of LaHarpe, Ill., and Terry "Speedy" KNIGHT of Washington; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles CHURCHILL of Waseca, Minn.; and one sister, Arlene KROYMANN of Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one stepson, one brother, two sisters and one great-granddaughter.
