DAVIS, Sherian Fay -- Sherian Fay DAVIS, 66, of rural Douds, died at 5:35 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, at home.
A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Eldon Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. John Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery, west of Keosauqua.
Visitation began at 1 p.m. today at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, where the family will be present from 2-4 p.m. and 6-7:30 p.m.
A memorial will be designated by the family at a later date. Gifts to the memorial may be left at the funeral home or church or may be mailed to the family at 15226 Iowa Oak Grove Ave., Douds 52551.
Mrs. DAVIS was born July 26, 1943, in Ironton, Mo., the daughter of George and Catherine STAAB PHILLIPS. She married Arthur L. DAVIS Sept. 16, 1961, in Milton. He died May 19, 2008.
Mrs. DAVIS graduated from Fox Valley High School in Milton in 1961. She was a homemaker and had worked at Fairfield Glove Factory and Captain Clean. She also had been self-employed cleaning homes.
Mrs. DAVIS attended Eldon Assembly of God Church. She was a Douds First Responder and volunteered at Douds school, Van Buren Good Samaritan Center and the Keosauqua and Fairfield Christian schools.
Mrs. DAVIS played on the Douds softball team.
Survivors include two daughters, Kelley DAVIS and husband Jeff of Humeston and Katie DUNCAN and husband Rory of Milton; two sons, Andy DAVIS of rural Birmingham and Phillip DAVIS of rural Douds; and three grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Alex DAVIS; one brother, Donald PHILLIPS; and one sister, Dotti HOWARD.
