KIEFER, Carol Kay -- Carol Kay KIEFER, 49, of Antioch, Tenn., formerly of Fairfield, died Friday, July 31, 2009, at home in Tennessee.

Arrangements are pending at Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant.

KIEFER, Carol Kay -- Carol Kay KIEFER, 49, of Antioch, Tenn., formerly of Fairfield, died from cancer Friday, July 31, 2009, at home.

A service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Bob Hartzler officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Creek Cemetery in rural Wayland.

Family visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. KIEFER was born March 8, 1960, in Fairfield, the daughter of Earl Dean and Vera Mae FRESHOUR McCABE. She married Randy KIEFER, and they later divorced.

Mrs. KIEFER attended Fairfield High School. She was a day care provider.

She was a member of the Baptist church in LaVergne, Tenn.

She enjoyed shopping, completing crossword puzzles, collecting purses and spending time with family.

Survivors include one son, Jeff KIEFER and wife April of LaVergne, Tenn.; her father and stepmother, Dean and Doren McCABE of Milan, Mo.; her mother, Vera McCABE of Antioch, Tenn.; two sisters, Linda HUNT of LaVergne, Tenn., and Jane MILLER of Wayland; and two brothers, Earl McCABE of Fairfield and Kenny McCABE of Junction City, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
