JOHNSON, Mildred Mae -- Mildred Mae JOHNSON, 85, of Fairfield, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.
A graveside inurnment service will be held at a later date. The body has been cremated.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Cards and memorials may be sent to 406 N. Oak St., Richland 52585.

Mrs. JOHNSON was born Dec. 18, 1923, in Maquoketa, the daughter of Lawrence and Virgil Mae BOLLINGER EDWARDS. She married Myron Everett JOHNSON Feb. 4, 1939, in Maquoketa. He died April 7, 2008.
Mrs. JOHNSON was employed in the clerical insurance department of Jefferson County Hospital.
She attended New Bethel Baptist Church in Valdosta, Ga., and First Baptist Church in Fairfield. She was a member of the Fairfield and Valdosta square dance clubs.
Survivors include five children, Carl JOHNSON and wife Rosemary of Ostelic, N.Y., Anna Mae EDWARDS of Lime Springs, Neda SWORDS and husband Frank of Valdosta, Ga., Larry JOHNSON and wife Marsha of Richland and Karen Rae LYONS and husband Mike of Fairfield; one sister, Darlene FRANZEN of Maquoketa; 22 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Myron Everett JOHNSON Jr.; and four siblings, Alberta MOREHEAD, Francis EDWARDS, Pauline LARKEY and Charles EDWARDS.
