KIDWELL, Ausbon Patrick -- The Rev. A. P. KIDWELL, 92, formerly of Brighton died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at Brownsboro Hills Nursing Home in Louisville, Ky.
A funeral service was held today at Fourth Presbyterian Church in Louisville. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Packwood Cemetery in Packwood with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating. A memorial has been established to Redbird Mission, H.C. 69 Box 700, Beverly, Ky, 40913. Gould Funeral Home in Brighton is in charge of arrangements.
Ausbon Patrick KIDWELL was born April 18, 1907, in Greenburg, Ky., the son of John and Nannie Ellen DAVIS KIDWELL. He married Eva Marie HURT July 17, 1935. After her death, he married Nina J. NEWBERRY Nov. 24, 1954. She died March 2, 1973.
The Rev. KIDWELL graduated form (sic) high school and college in Campbellsville, Ky., attended Rio Grande College in Ohio, McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago and The Chicago Theological Seminary. He completed his education with three masters degrees.
He taught school in Kentucky and Ohio before becoming a Presbyterian minister in the spring of 1951. He served churches in Kentucky, Nebraska, Minnesota and Iowa.
He was a member of Naaman Lodge 613 A.F. and A.M. in Brighton. He attended Brighton United Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Frances LUDWIG of Stockport and Mary HELTON of Cincinnati, Ohio; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel and Golder; three sisters, Ruth, Mary and Lorain; and one granddaughter.
