Alma B. LINDER, 99, of Sun City, Ariz., died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at Sun Health Grandview Care Center in Sun City West, Ariz.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Elliott officiating. Interment will be in Fell Cemetery near Libertyville. A reception is planned from 4-5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home for friends to greet her family. Memorials to the Alma Linder fund of the Fairfield Community Concert Association may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Fairfield Community Concert Association in care of Dorothy Bell, 204 Iowa Ave., Fairfield 52556.
Mrs. LINDER was born Nov. 2, 1900, in Mount Sterling, the daughter of Ednic Thomas and Laura Elizabeth DAVIDSON LEONARD. She married Edwin Gobble LINDER May 28, 1932, in Monmouth, Ill. He died Oct. 14, 1977.
She graduated from Parsons College and was a music teacher and served as church organist at the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield for 50 years. She moved to Arizona in 1979 and was organist for the Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church in Sun City from 1981-1994.
She was a member of PEO Chapter CG for 71 years, Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church, Westernairies, organst and piano, Musicians Club of Sun City West, TTT Society and American Guild of Organists.
She was in Who's Who of American Women in 1977-78, Notable Women 1976-77, and Scholastic Honorary College (Parsons) Phi Kappa Phi.
Survivors include one sister, Madeline "Madge" VAN LANTSCHOOT of Sun City.
