GREINER, Mary Margaret -- Mary Margaret GREINER, 87, of Keota, died Thursday, July 9, 2009, at Washington County Hospital in Washington.

A Mass of the Resurrection was held at 10 a.m. today at Holy Trinity Parish-St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota, with the Rev. Rich Adam officiating. Burial was at Holy Trinity Cemeteries-Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in rural Harper.

A memorial fund has been established for Saints Peter and Paul Clear Creek Heritage Association.

Mrs. GREINER was born Nov. 8, 1921, near Harper, the daughter of John and Clara SONDAG REDLINGER. She married Everett F. GREINER May 23, 1944, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Harper. He died in 1996.

Mrs. GREINER was valedictorian of St. Elizabeth High School class of 1940. She and her husband lived and farmed south of Keota.

Mrs. GREINER was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, Altar and Rosary Society and TLS Club. She also taught religion classes.

She enjoyed spending time with family, going to the casino, gardening, cooking and traveling.

Survivors include 13 children, Earl GREINER and wife Tanya of Richland, Barbara WARNKE of Navarre, Fla., John GREINER and wife Ann of Keota, Dean GREINER and wife Debra of Brighton, Jean HAIFLEY and husband Dick of Keota, Marvin GREINER and wife Deborah of Keota, Milo GREINER and wife Denise of Keota, Myron GREINER and wife Karen of Richland, Steve GREINER and wife Becky of Richland, Leslie GREINER and wife Candy of Keota, Shirley BUEHNEMAN and husband Craig of Sigourney, Nancy WEBER and husband Thomas of Keswick and Lisa GREINER of Keota; 30 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bernard and John REDLINGER, both of Harper, and Cletus REDLINGER of Solon; and one sister, Virginia O'DONNELL of Iowa City.

In addition to her hsuband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson; one son-in-law, Jim WARNKE; two brothers, Alvin and James REDLINGER; and one sister, Leola REDLINGER.
