BOLEY, Janet K. -- Janet K. BOLEY, 73, of rural Burlington, died at 3 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2009, at home.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Debra Miller-Kinney officiating. Cremation has been accorded. Inurnment will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.

Visittion is from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home in Burlington, where the family will be present from 6-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or Rock Creek Church Restoration in Ollie.

Mrs. BOLEY was born April 9, 1936, in Ottumwa, the daughter of Henry and Edna ADAMS MAIRET. She married Carl L. BOLEY Oct. 19, 1957, in Birmingham.

Mrs. BOLEY was a 1954 graduate of Fairfield High School. She retired as a school bus driver for the Burlington Community School District. She was owner and operator of Boley's Blooming Flame and Big River Popcorn in Burlington.

Mrs. BOLEY was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Great River Ramblers and Midwest Pacers motor home clubs, Burlington Women's Club, Beta Sigma Phi, Rock Creek Church Restoration in Ollie, Older Iowans Legislature, Des Moines County Red Cross and Disaster Relief, Rebuilding Gulfport and Stevenson Lake Area and Operation Food Basket.

She enjoyed playing bridge, making crafts, crocheting, camping and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Kirby BOLEY and wife Sharon of Burlington; one daughter, Stacy HILLER and husband Bob of Burlington; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
