TEDROW, Patricia A. 'Patty' -- BATAVIA-Patricia A. "Patty" TEDROW, 75, of 1786 Ash Ave. passed away June 7, 2009 at her home after a lengthy illness.
She was born June 5, 1934 in Washington County, IA to E. Loran and Norma GARDNER PALMER. She married Gerald TEDROW November 17, 1962.
She and her parents moved to Batavia when she was 11 years old, and Patty graduated from Batavia High School in 1953. She was raised on and lived most of her adult life on a farm, and she helped her father and husband with the farming. She worked at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield, retiring in 1995. She enjoyed the residents.
She was an avid flower gardener, and enjoyed the outdoors and watching birds. She was her parents pride and joy, the heart and soul of her family, a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She was proud of her great-granddaughter.
Surviving is her husband, Gerald; a step-son, Jeff TEDROW of Batavia; two daughters, Cindy TEDROW of Batavia and Lisa CLINE and husband Mike, of Fairfield; three grandchildren, Royce and Dustin MALLINGER, and Chelsey CLINE; a step-grandson, Travis TEDROW; a great-granddaughter, Cassidy MALLINGER; and a beloved family pet terrier, Miles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant brothers, a son-in-law; several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with Pastor Dave Albert of Living Hope Bible Church officiating. Burial wil be in the Wellman Cemetery in Wellman, IA.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to the family.
