LIVESAY, Corda B. -- Corda B. LIVESAY, 91, of Keosauqua died at 9 a.m. Sunday, June 7, 2009, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. George LIVESAY officiating. Burial will be in Fellows Cemetery in Keosauqua.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6:30-8 p.m.

Memorials to Keosauqua Senior Center or Van Buren Good Samaritan Center may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 811 Division St., Keosauqua 52565.

Mrs LIVESAY was born April 7, 1918, in Harper, the daughter of Bert and Augusta SEABA HARTMAN. She married Alex B. LIVESAY Nov. 7, 1936, in Olathe, Kan. He died July 12, 1984.

Mrs. LIVESAY and her husband farmed in Wapello, Keokuk and Jefferson counties before moving to Van Buren County in 1950. In addition to being a farm homemaker, Mrs. LIVESAY worked many years as a nurse aide at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

She was a member of Keosauqua Christian Church and Fairfield Eagles Auxiliary. She had served on the Van Buren County Advisory Board for the Aging.

Survivors include three sons, Gaylord LIVESAY and wife Ann of Keosauqua, George LIVESAY and wife Linda of Elizabeth City, N.C., and John LIVESAY and wife Joyce of Port Huron, Mich.; three daughters, Bernadine BARKER of Keosauqua, Brenda HANSHAW and husband Leonard of Chesapeake, Va., and Shirley McCLURE and husband Norlan of Keosauqua; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Clara WILDE and Grace LEMLEY; and three grandchildren.
