SEPTER, Virginia E. 'Ginny' -- Virginia E. "Ginny" SEPTER, 74, of Mount Pleasant, died Thursday, May 28, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oakland Mills Cemetery, with the Rev. Jeff McPheron officiating. Inurnment will be in Oakland Mills Cemetery.

No visitation is planned.

Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be sent via www.olsonpowell.com.

Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. SEPTER was born July 17, 1934, in Hillsboro, the daughter of Charles and Nellie Pearl RILEY CONNER Sr. She married Dale E. SEPTER. The couple later divorced.

Mrs. SEPTER attended Hillsboro School and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School. She worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant and then was employed for many years at Champion Spark Plug. She also had worked at Mackay Envelope and Lomont Molding. In later years, she tended bar at the Moose Lodge, Westside Tap and Rumors.

Mrs. SEPTER enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, fishing, collecting Indian memorabilia, spending time with her puppy and following her son and grandson's performances in the Amarillo band.

Survivors include one son, Lenny SEPTER and wife Ginny of Mount Pleasant; one daughter, Teal SEPTER of Tucson, Ariz.; one brother, Charles CONNER of Mount Pleasant; one sister, Evelyn ERICSON of Fairfield; one half brother, Vern DOROTHY of Mount Pleasant; one half sister, Mildred INGALLS of Birmingham; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Marlin and Tommy SEPTER.
