PILCHER, Ruth BURROWS -- Ruth BURROWS PILCHER, 94, formerly of Ottumwa, died Monday, May 18, 2009, at her son's home in Fairfield.

A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with Mark Shaner officiating. Burial will be in Dunnville Cemetery, near Bloomfield.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the family present from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Mrs. PILCHER was born May 16, 1915, in Floris, the daughter of Russie and Minnie Alice GATEWOOD BURROWS. She married Clarence Vernon PILCHER April 9, 1938. He died June 30, 1977.

Survivors include two sons, Charles PILCHER of Ottumwa and Gordon PILCHER of Fairfield; one daughter, Carol PAXTON of Ottumwa; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Russell PILCHER; one infant daughter, Eva Catholene; and one great-granddaughter.
