COX, Ethel E. -- Ethel E. COX, 94, of Bushnell, Ill., died at 12:20 a.m. Sunday, May 17, 2009, at Prairie City Rehab & Healthcare Center.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Bushnell United Methodist Church in Bushnell, Ill., with the Rev. Trisha Chapman officiating. A graveside committal service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Friend Cemetery in Richland.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell, Ill., where family will be present from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Bushnell Rescue Squad, Susan G. Komen Foundation or Bushnell United Methodist Church.

Mrs. COX was born Nov. 10, 1914, in Martinsburg, the daughter of Clyde and Sarah FAIRCHILD BROWN. She married James Theodore "Ted" COX Feb. 21, 1933, in Lancaster, Mo.

Mrs. COX had lived in Bushnell since 1953. She worked at Blue Bell Manufacturing and Mikesell's Grocery Store in Bushnell.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing and crocheting.

Mrs. COX was a member of Friends Church in Richland and Bushnell United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Jim COX and wife Donna of Owasso, Okla.; four daughters, Lvonne ZICKEFOOSE and husband Gayle, Janet FOSTER and husband Larry, Gretchen THURMAN and husband Larry, all of Bushnell, Ill., and Joan McMAHILL and husband Gary of Orange Park, Fla.; 21 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Wanda ROTH of Mount Pleasant.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Dorotha BURGETT and Eileen McCLEERY; one son, Ron; and one brother, Raymond BROWN.
