JOHNSTON, Dennis B. -- Dennis B. JOHNSTON, 57, of Fairfield, died today, Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

Arrangements are pending at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

JOHNSTON, Dennis B. -- Dennis B. JOHNSTON, 57, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Jim Wotherspoon officiating. Burial will follow in Leando Cemetery in Leando.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Fairfield or Tenco Industries Inc. Cards and memorials may be sent to 612 Grove St., Prophetstown, IL 61277.

Mr. JOHNSTON was born Sept. 26, 1951, in Birmingham, the son of Bruce and Virginia DOCKENDORFF JOHNSTON. He married Sheila HARRYMAN, who preceded him in death in 1995.

Mr. JOHNSTON lived most of his life in Davis and Jefferson counties, where he was employed as a production worker with Tenco Industries.

Mr. JOHNSTON was a member of First Baptist Church in Fairfield. He was active in AA, NA and Drop-In Center.

He enjoyed sports, particularly the Hawkeyes, Bears and Cubs.

Survivors include one daughter, Teresa JOHNSTON of Ottumwa; two granddaughters; his mother of Keosauqua; and two brothers, Robert JOHNSTON of Prophetstown, Ill., and Jim JOHNSTON of Wichita, Kan.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his father.
