RYAN, Robert A. -- Robert A. RYAN, 92, formerly of Fairfield, died Sunday, April 19, 2009, in Albuquerque, N.M.

RYAN, Robert A. Jr. -- Robert A. RYAN Jr., 92, of Albuquerque, N.M., died Monday, April 20, 2009.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Joe Phipps officiating. Inurnment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Robert A. RYAN, M.D. Scholarship Fund may be sent to Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.
Raymond Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Dr. RYAN was born Feb. 26, 1917, in Norwood, Mo., the son of Robert A. RYAN and Esther CURTIS RYAN.
Dr. RYAN grew up in Mountain Grove, Mo., and graduated from Mountain Grove High School. He received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Missouri and took the first two years of his medical training there. In March 1942, he graduated from Rush Medical College in Chicago. After completing his internship at City Hospital in St. Louis, he was inducted into the United States Army. He served 3.5 years in a general hospital in England and retired at the end of World War II as a major. After further training in St. Louis, Dr. RYAN established a family practice in Fairfield. He was a founding partner of Medical Arts Clinic. Upon his retirement, Dr. RYAN moved to Texas where he lived until July 2008, when he relocated to Albuquerque, N.M.
Survivors include four children, Robert III and wife Elaine, Margaret TURNER and husband David, Janet HEINRICHS and husband Mark and John and wife Tomi; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.
