RUGGLES, Cedric H. -- Cedric H. RUGGLES, 77, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at home.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Methodist Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Mike Metz officiating. The body has been cremated. Inurnment will be at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery.

Family visitation will be from 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Cards and memorials to the family may be sent to 1902 Highway 34, Fairfield 52556.

Mr. RUGGLES was born Dec. 15, 1931, in Packwood, the son of Orville and Ruby B. HALE RUGGLES. He married Dixie BLAIR Nov. 13, 1951.

Mr. RUGGLES graduated from Packwood High School. He was a farmer for 25 years and an auctioneer for 18 years. He was employed at American Chain & Cable.

Mr. RUGGLES was a member of First United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2271 and Fairfield Eagles Lodge No. 1927.

Survivors include his wife of Fairfield; three children, Allan RUGGLES and wife Carol of Burlington, Ellen WESTHOFF and husband Richard of Fairfield and Robert RUGGLES and wife Sarah of Macau, China; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Eloise BAUMGARTNER of Sigourney.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Edrith GRIMES.
