Lacy LOVING

Lacy LOVING, 81, of Stockport, died Thursday, April 23, 2009, at home.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Stockport Christian Church, with the Rev. John Griffith officiating. Interment will be in Spencer Cemetery in Stockport (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

Open visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the family present from 6-8 p.m.

A memorial has been established. Cards and memorials may be sent to 1003 180th St., Batavia 52533.

Mr. LOVING was born Jan. 31, 1928, in Stockport, the son of Lacy C. and Eva G. ATWOOD LOVING. He married Stella Edna BRUEGGE Jan. 31, 1950. She died July 1, 1996.

Mr. LOVING graduated from Stockport High School. He and his wife owned and operated L & L Ayrshire Farm and farmed in Cedar Township until their retirement in 1995.

Mr. LOVING's many memberships include Dairy Herd Improvement Association and State and National Ayrshire Sale Committee. He had been a director of Ayrshire Breeders Association and vice president of Iowa Ayrshire Association. He also had served as a delegate for Dairy Farmers of America. He belonged to Glasgow Methodist Church.

Mr. LOVING was recognized for Farm Family of the Year for Jefferson County in 1971.

Survivors include eight children, David LOVING and wife Deanna of Mount Pleasant, Elaine LUNSFORD and husband Wendell of Stockport, Dale LOVING and wife Teresa of New London, Ellen SNYDER and husband Ray of Stockport, Darrell LOVING and wife Cecilia of Richland, Eilene BUCH of Batavia, Daniel LOVING and wife Angela of Birmingham and Elizabeth GATES and husband Randy of Douds; 22 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Waunita SMITH and Wyona DOROTHY.
