JOHNSON, Wilma C. -- Wilma C. JOHNSON, 81, formerly of Fairfield, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, in Santa Maria, Calif.

A memorial service was held March 16 at Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary.

Mrs. JOHNSON was born March 13, 1927, in Fairfield, the daughter of Exa and Vern VORHIES.

Mrs. JOHNSON worked in the law offices of Dick Weldon for more than 40 years.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time with her dog.

Survivors include one daughter, Phyllis CHANDLER of Santa Maria; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Vern VORHIES Jr. of Birmingham and Merle VORHIES of Fairfield.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe JOHNSON; one son, Greg JOHNSON; one sister, Winnetta HARWOOD; and one brother, Abe VORHIES.
