WHITE, Norma Arline -- Norma Arline WHITE, of Keosauqua, formerly of Birmingham, died Monday, March 30, 2009, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

Arrangements are pending at Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham.

WHITE, Norma Arline -- Norma Arline WHITE, 88, of Keosauqua, formerly of Birmingham, died Monday, March 30, 2009, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines, with the Rev. John Griffith officiating.

Open visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

A memorial has been established to the Birmingham Fire Department.

Mrs. WHITE was born Oct. 22, 1920, in Van Buren County, the daughter of Henry Thomas and Elva COX BARTHOLOMEW. She married Robert Nelson WHITE Aug. 23, 1940. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. WHITE attended Gray No. 5 School and Keosauqua High School. She and her husband lived in Des Moines, where she worked as a sales clerk at Younker's for many years. They moved to Colorado for several years and returned to the Des Moines area to care for his parents. She had most recently resided at Country Lane Apartments in Keosauqua.

Mrs. WHITE was a member of a Baptist church in Des Moines.

Survivors include one sister, Jessie MORRIS of Keosauqua.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; seven sisters, Veda MYERS, Theone WRAY, Catherine WHITNEY, Bessie ROBERTS, Ruth PIPER, Sophia ROBERTS and Mary WILEY; and one brother, Thomas B. BARTHOLOMEW.
