DOUTHART, Courtland L. -- Courtland L. DOUTHART, 72, of Keosauqua, died Sunday, March 29, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

DOUTHART, Courtland L. -- Courtland L. DUTHART, 72, of Keosauqua, died Sunday, March 29, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Larry Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Bonaparte Cemetery.

Open visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Wednesday and beginning at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where family will be present from 1-2 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at PO Box 162, Mount Auburn 52313.

Mr. DOUTHART was born Nov. 12, 1936, in Fairfield, the son of Fred and Fern PLATT DOUTHART. He married Shirley Ann O'BRIAN. They later divorced.

Mr. DOUTHART lived most of his life in Van Buren County. He worked at Bonaparte Glove Factory. He also had lived in Shellsburg, where he worked at Cherry-Burrell Manufacturing Company.

Mr. DOUTHART was a former member of Cedar Rapids Christian Center, where he had led a youth group and provided music.

Survivors include one son, Brenton Sean DOUTHART of Mount Auburn; one daughter, Brenda Lori FERRY and husband Eric of Meridian, Miss.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, William, Ralph, Fred, Kenneth and Milton DOUTHART; and four sisters, Alma BARR, Helen PUFFINBARGER, Mildred McFARLAND and Delores HOUSER.
