MERCER, Marilyn Joyce -- Marily Joyce MERCER, 74, of Salisbury, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at home surrounded by her family.
Marilyn was born in Abingdon, Iowa, the daughter of the late Clyde A. MYERS and Mildred WILSON MYERS. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. MERCER on January 27th, 2006.
Mrs. MERCER was employed with the U.S. Government for 40 years. Her post of duty was in the Salisbury IRS office. She retired in 2000 and started her second career in accounting with Carl Hoffman and Associates. She loved everyone, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by two loving sons, Richard W. MERCER and his wife, Janet of Mardela, Mike S. MERCER and his wife, Joanne of Salisbury; five grandchildren, Jamie M. SCHINDELBECK & her husband, Shawn, Stacey M. HARR & her husband, Chris, Jennifer M. SHIPE and her husband, Brian, Matthew MERCER and Bryan MERCER; two great grandchildren; Stefan SCHINDELBECK and Kyle SCHINDELBECK; a sister, Marvalene MYERS HENDRICKSON of Iowa City, Iowa and a brother Merle MYERS of Iowa City, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in her memory be made to Oak Ridge Baptist Church, 361 Tilghman Road, Salisbury, MD. 21804.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation two hours prior to the service. Pastor Brian Moss will officiate.
