GRABY, Theresa Julia MAKATURA -- Theresa Julia MAKATURA GRABY, 73, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., died at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center after a short battle with leukemia.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Franklin Road Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, Tenn., with the Rev. Mike Norris officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to Franklin Road Christian School, 3148 Franklin Road, Murfreesboro, TN 37128.
Woodfin Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. GRABY was born in Baptistown, N.J., the daughter of Frank and Mary LISKAI MAKATURA. She was married to Merlin Rex GRABY, formerly of the Fairfield area, for 49.5 years.
Mrs. GRABY attended Bob Jones University and was employed for 25 years at Sword of the Lord Foundation, working in the editorial department.
She was a member of Franklin Road Baptist Church since 1964, and was active in the music program.
Survivors include her husband; three siblings, Andrew MAKATURA, Elsie KACHMAR and Viola DOSTER; two sons, Scott GRABY and Randal GRABY of Murfreesboro; two daughters, Cindy GRABY of Pensacola, Fla., and Michelle THOMASON of Palatka, Fla.; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen SZOLLOSY and Elisabeth MAKATURA; and two brothers, Frank MAKATURA and Peter MAKATURA.
