CRAWFORD, William H. 'Bill' -- William H. "Bill" CRAWFORD, 84, of Clearwater, Kan., died Thursday, March 12, 2009.

A funeral was held at 1 p.m. today at Belle Plaine United Methodist Church in Belle Plaine, Kan.

Hatfield-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials have been established to Belle Plaine United Methodist Church, 124 E. 10th, Belle Plaine, KS 67013, and Clearwater Retirement Community, 620 E. Wood, Clearwater, KS 67026.

Mr. CRAWFORD was born Jan. 12, 1925, in Locust Grove Township in Jefferson County, the son of William Earl and Flossie Melvina KNOX CRAWFORD. He married Mildred Lucille NORTHUP Dec. 24, 1944, in Fairfield. She died April 12, 2006.

Mr. CRAWFORD had lived in Wellington, Kan., and Belle Plaine, Kan. He was a retired Boeing Company employee.

Survivors include three sons, Gerry and wife Debbie of Belle Plaine, Kan., Jim of Byron, Ga., Sherman and wife Kathy of Haysville, Kan.; three daughters, Mable ROBBINS and husband Ken of Arvada, Colo., Marlene RIECKENBERG and husband Ted of Wellington, Kan., and Merry HOSKINSON and husband Melvin of Wichita, Kan.; five sisters, Morine HOGAN, Mary SHANSTROM and Ila Mae BRADSHAW, all of Fairfield, Virginia CONN of Monroe, Ore., and Lucille DAVIS of Grinnell; 21 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wayne and Charles; and two sons, John and Bill.
