GOSSICK, Donald Wilson -- Donald Wilson GOSSICK, 78, of Buffalo, Wyo., died Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Johnson County Healthcare Center in Buffalo, Wyo.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Mr. GOSSICK was born March 22, 1930, in Fairfield, the son of Charles and Edith GOSSICK. He married Shirley DUNNUCK June 6, 1948.
Mr. GOSSICK grew up and attended school in Fairfield. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1948. He and his wife honeymooned in Colorado Springs, Colo., and decided to stay. He worked for a bakery for 1.5 years before returning to Fairfield, where he managed several department stores. In 1958, Mr. GOSSICK received his pilot's license. He then became a commercial pilot, and in 1968, he and his wife moved to Florida and bought Avon Park Flying Service Inc., which they operated until his retirement in 1985. They moved to Buffalo in 1986, and split their time between their cabin in the Big Horns and Florida until 1997.
Mr. GOSSICK was a gun collector, member of the National Rifle Association and member of the Single Action Shooters Association.
He enjoyed playing the trumpet, especially Dixieland, and spending time with family. He also enjoyed mountains.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Mark GOSSICK and wife Diane of Peoria, Ill., and Charles GOSSICK and wife Susan of Avon Park, Fla.; one daughter, Laura LAWSON and husband Michael of Winter Haven, Fla.; one brother, John GOSSICK of Pontiac, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
