JACOBS, Clifford Lee -- Clifford Lee JACOBS, 80, of Columbus Junction, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a short illness.

A celebration of life service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa, with the Rev. Darryl Carr officiating. Interment will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.

Visitation will begin at noon Friday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 5-7 p.m.

A general memorial has been established.

Mr. JACOBS was born April 5, 1928, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Hiram and Hattie RILEY JACOBS.

Mr. JACOBS lived most of his life in Washington and Rubio. He worked at Crane Valves in Washington until his retirement in 1988.

He enjoyed fishing, searching for and tearing down junk and spending time with family. He also loved animals.

Survivors include one daughter, Tammy BRYAN and husband David of Iowa City, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
