WELLER, James Stanley -- James Stanley WELLER, 56, of Davenport, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, in Davenport.

Arrangements are pending at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

WELLER, James S. -- James S. WELLER, 56, died Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus following a sudden heart attack.

Funeral services and mass of Christian burial for James will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Davenport. Visitation will be Tuesday (today) from 3 to 6 p.m. at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport where a prayer service will be offered at 5:30 p.m. that all are invited to attend. Additional, funeral services and mass will be in Fairfield, Iowa at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2009 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield. Behner Funeral Home also is assisting the family with arrangements in Fairfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.

James Stanley was born July 20, 1952 in Sedalia, Missouri, the son of Charles B. and Doris (CLIFFORD) WELLER, Jr., of Fairfield, IA. Jim was a graduate of Fairfield High School and had attended St. Ambrose College. He was a 1974 graduate of Marycrest College and graduated cum laude in 1977 from Franciscan Hospital School of Nursing, Rock Island, IL. Jim had been employed as an RN at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City and an RN at Genesis West Medical Center in Davenport.

Mr. WELLER was a member of American Nurses Association, founding board member and past president of Iowa Psychiatric Nurses Association, member and past state representative of American Psychiatric Nurses Association, and a board member of St. Vincent Home Corporation.

In addition to his parents, Jim is survived by his brothers, Dale and Mike, both of Omaha, NE, his sister, Linda and her husband Vern REINIER of Fairfield, IA and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and his extended Quad-City family.
