Gary DAVIS of Fairfield died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA).

Arrangements are pending at Behner Funeral Home.

Gary D. DAVIS

Gary D. DAVIS, age 58 of Fairfield, passed away January 25, 2009 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA, as a result of an automobile accident.

Visitation will be from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM prior to the service. At the family's request the casket will be closed.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday January 31, 2009 at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with Rev. Suzanne Swahn officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

The family asks that memorials be made to the Gary Davis Memorial Fund in lieu of flowers. Cards and memorials may be sent c/o: The Gary Davis Memorial Fund, 5402 Meadowood Drive, Madison, WI 53711.

Gary Dean DAVIS was born October 29, 1950 in Fairfield, IA to Robert Lee and Vera Fern (HESTON) DAVIS.

Gary lived all his life in the Jefferson County area. He completed his education at Fairfield High School, Class of 1969. He then attended automotive training at Glenwood, IA. He was a long time employee of Danielson Motor Company, and was presently working for Leazer TV and Appliance, and part time for Fairfield Park I and II. Gary was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Gary is survived by his brother and family: Robert E. (Jane) DAVIS of Madison, WI; two nephews: Andrew B. (Brooke) DAVIS of Wausau, WI, Timothy S. (Kari) DAVIS of Madison, WI, one grandniece (Ella) and one grand-nephew (Connor).

His parents preceded Gary in death.

Gary will be remembered for his compassionate, caring attitude and his willingness to help family and friends.
