POOL, Henrietta F. -- Henrietta F. POOL, 92, of Douds, died at 6:55 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, at Hospice of Davis and Wapello Counties Hospice House in Ottumwa.

A funeral wil be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery east of Douds.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 4-6 p.m.

Memorials to Douds First Responders or Zion Lutheran Cemetery Association may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at PO Box 174, Douds 52551.

Mrs. POOL was born Feb. 10, 1916, west of Keosauqua, the daughter of Frank and Rissie Lou ELSE BRILL. She married Joseph E. POOL Feb. 20, 1939, in Keosauqua. He died Oct. 19, 1991.

Mrs. POOL and her husband farmed between Birmingham and Douds. They retired to Douds in 1981.

Mrs. POOL had been active in the former White and Oak Grove Ladies Aid societies.

Survivors include one son, Donald G. POOL of Douds, and one brother, Joseph BRILL of Branson, Mo.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Austin, Clyde and Carl BRILL; and one sister, Marguerite PARSONS.
