PEIFFER, Doris Jean -- Doris Jean PEIFFER, 77, of Fairfield, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Stephen Page officiating. Interment will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa.

Visitation with the family will be from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Polishville Community Association. Cards and memorials may be sent to 310 Pearl St., Wayland 52654.

Mrs. PEIFFER was born April 5, 1931, in Brighton, the daughter of E.W. and Ada SCHOOLEY DUTTWEILER. She married Herbert J. PEIFFER June 9, 1948. He died May 17, 1993.

Mrs. PEIFFER was a housewife and mother.

She especially enjoyed playing Bingo in the tri-county area.

Survivors include two children, Donna KAUFMAN of Wayland and Anthony PEIFFER and wife Patsy of Fairfield; one daughter-in-law, Debbie PEIFFER of Lockridge; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Robert and Michael; one son-in-law, Michael KAUFMAN; and one brother, Dale DUTTWEILER.
