KNOWLER, Amy Dawn -- Amy Dawn KNOWLER, 42, of Ankeny, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, in San Diego, Calif.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ankeny Christian Disciple Church in Ankeny.

An open memorial has been established to the Amy and Darin KNOWLER family.

Arrangements are in the care of Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe.

Mrs. KNOWLER was born June 27, 1966, in Fairfield,

In 1980, her family moved to Ankeny, where Mrs. KNOWLER graduated from Ankeny Senior High in 1984. She then pursued a medical secretary designation at Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny. Most recently she worked as a residential cleaner and as a secretary at her husband's insurance office. Mrs. KNOWLER was preparing for additional cancer treatment and was hospitalized, when she later died as a result of colon cancer.

Mrs. KNOWLER enjoyed spending time with family and taking family vacations. She also enjoyed cooking, preparing family picnics, gardening and taking motorcycle rides.

Survivors include her husband, Darin J. KNOWLER; two children, Gloria Dawn BRAZELTON and Jacob Perry BRAZELTON; one stepson, Grant Joseph KNOWLER; her parents, Al and Pam WARDLOW of Ankeny; her grandparents, Larry and Helen SHEPARD of Ottumwa; and two sisters, April JOHNSON of Ankeny and Erin P. CRETSINGER of Ankeny.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Irma and Bill MOFFIT.
