MRS. P. DESPAIN DIED TODAY NOON
Funeral Arrangements Are Pending; Had Been Ill Since the First of the Year

Mrs. Peter DESPAIN pasesd away (sic) today noon at 12:30 oclock at her home, 706 South Sixth street, after being in ill health since last January. The funeral arrangements are pending until word is heard from relatives at a distance. The body is at the Hoskins funeral home.

Mrs. DESPAIN was formerly Miss Alice McINTIRE, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John McINTIRE. She was born in this city June 12, 1865 and all her life has been spent here. She is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. George BURROWS and Mrs. Grace MILLER of Fairfield, Mrs. Frank SMITH of Keosauqua, Thurman BAKER of Ottumwa, Raymond BAKER of Casper, Wyo., Mrs. J W. SHAFFER of Washington and Clarence at home. Also a grand son Donald DESPAIN.

FUNERAL SERVICES TOMORROW AT 2:30 FOR MRS. DESPAIN

Funeral services for Mrs. Peter DESPAIN who passed away at her home 706 South Sixth street, Saturday will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 oclock from the Free Methodist church. Rev. W. H. McDonald will have charge of the services and interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.

OBITUARY

MRS. PETER DESPAIN

Alice Jane McINTIRE, daughter of John and Sarah McINTIRE, was born in Fairfield June 12, 1865, and died May 25, 1929, being 63 years, 11 months and 13 days old.

In 1882 she was united in marriage to Marion BAKER at Memphis, Mo. To this union eleven children were born, five of which have preceeded her in death.

She was again married August 21, 1902 to Peter DESPAIN. To this union two children were born, one of which has preceeded her in death.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband and seven children: Mrs Geo BURROWS, Mrs. Grace MILLER and Clarence DESPAIN of Fairfield; Mrs. Frank SMITH of Keosauqua, Raymond BAKER of Casper, Wyo., Mrs. J. W. SCHAFFER of Washington, and Thurman BAKER fo (sic) Ottumwa. She also leaves four sisters and four brothers: Mrs. Lizzie WOOLEY, Minnie and Millie McINTIRE of Moline, Ill., and Mrs. Mary SCHAFFER of Bonaparte, Dave McINTIRE of Moline, Ill., Will McINTIRE of Fairfield, Lewis McINTIRE of New Berlin, N. J., Harry McINTIRE of Ottumwa.

She leaves to mourn her lose (sic), her and 7 great-grandchildren beside a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. DESPAIN was a patient sufferer during the six months of her sickness, never complaining of her ills. While she still had her health and was able she was one who ever went about doing good, lending a helping hand to those who were in need.

Funeral services were held at the Free Methodsit church May 28 at 2:30 oclock in charge of Rev. W. H. McDonald. The pallbearers were her grandsons; Glen BURROWS, Ray MILLER, Gerald MARING, Marion SCHAFFER, Ross SCHAFFER and Ray BAKER.
