Eva MILLER, 100, of Marshalltown, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at Villa Del Sol in Marshalltown (note: in Marshall Co., IA).
A service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hope United Methodist Church in Marshalltown. Lunch will follow, and interment will be later in the afternoon at Liscomb Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Mrs. MILLER was born Aug. 17, 1908, in rural Douds, the daughter of Fred and Opal POOL. She married Carroll ANDREWS in 1927. He died in 1958. She married Frank LYNCH in 1965. He died in 1973. She married Leo MILLER in 1978. He died in 1990.
Mrs. MILLER attended school at Douds-Leando and graduated from high school in 1926. She and her first husband lived in the Douds area before moving to Marshalltown in 1929. During the depression, they shared their home with his parents, who lost their farm. Mrs. MILLER and her second husband lived in rural Eldon, and after his death, she moved back to Marshalltown to live near family. She and her third husband lived between Keosauqua and Marshalltown.
Mrs. MILLER enjoye sewing, knitting, crocheting, crafting, gardening and later traveling.
She was baptized in the Des Moines River and was a member of Hope United Methodist Church in Marshalltown.
Survivors include four children, Wilma GEDDES and husband Russell, Carolyn SALASEK, Virginia LONG and husband William and Clarence ANDREWS and wife Margaret; two sisters, Kathryn WELLER of Douds and Gladys FITE of Floris; two brothers, Wes POOL of Douds and Don POOL of Eldon; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; three stepchildren; and numerous stepgrandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren and stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by two sons, Ralph ANDREWS and wife Pat and Dwayne ANDREWS and wife Marlene; one son-in-law, Dale SALASEK; and one sister, Margaret BAILEY.
